Report of the seminar held to announce acquisition of Chinafs National Standard GB/T

[Date] March 12th, 2009 in Beijing, 18th in Shanghai, 25th in Chongqing, 31st in Wuhan
While CC-Link has been acknowledged as a global standard being compliant with ISO and IEC, it is also actively being promoted to acquire national standards of respective countries. The latest achievement of such activity, while Chinafs presence is increasingly growing in the industrial field, is acquisition of Chinafs national standard GB/T, which is the highest level network standard of the country. This acquisition was made in the revisions of standards conducted by the Standardization Administration of China (SAC), and came after the acquisition of GB/Z in 2005, which was also a Chinafs national standard. The new acquisition will accelerate the expansion of CC-Link in China and Asia, as well as the U.S.A. and Europe, mainly among manufacturers (vendors and users) who seek a new business opportunity in Asia.
To celebrate the acquisition of GB/T, CLPA-China hosted a seminar in four major cities in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Wuhan). The seminar was a success and included speeches and presentations by SAC and other administration officials, the professor of Southwest University, who is one of the key members of the standard committee, and representatives of users and vendors. Attendees totaled to over 100 each city and were from various fields, such as construction, steel, petrochemistry, automation control, and universities. Mass media who came to the seminar exceeded 20 companies, showing how high attention the seminar received from the public.
Being certified by the standard, CC-Link is now recognized as one of the standard networks in China, and will see acceleration of development and manufacturing of Chinese CC-Link-compatible products. CC-Link now can also be used in facilities and systems procured in a public project. Furthermore, in addition to the FA (Factory Automation) market, CC-Link will be expanded to other markets such as BA (Building Automation) and PA (Process Automation).
