What is CC-Link IE?

From control to optimization of your entire system.
A new integrated industrial Ethernet network concept

The CLPA presents CC-Link IE, bringing vast new possibilities to the world of automation.

The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) manages the specifications of the open and global field network CC-Link, and promotes the worldwide adoption of CC-Link technology for deterministic network communications in industrial automation.
To meet the changing demands for optimized control, openness, and reliable handling of large volumes of data on communication networks CLPA now presents an open 1-Gigabit Ethernet based integrated optical network concept - CC-Link IE.
Recognizing these demands, CC-Link IE enables seamless data transmission from the information network layer to the field device layer. This is what the CLPA calls an integrated industrial network, and CC-Link IE implementation provides a cost reduction for the total system engineering task, from system start-up to maintenance.

CC-Link IE

Controller Network

High speed, deterministic Ethernet networking
The first open standard 1Gbps manufacturing network to be release globally

- That's CC-Link IE Controller Network. In addition to the control data transmission, it enables information processing data transmission such as equipment control, maintenance and device setting diagnostics for improved collaboration and productivity.

Ethernet Base

Povides cost reduction by using standard Ethernet optical cable and connectors.

High Speed & Large Scale Shared Data

In addition to 1Gbps high speed transmission, it provides 256K bytes of network-oriented common memory. This enables easy construction of decentralized controller system with large data handling, regardless of system loading.

Seamless Communication

Enables seamless transmission from IT network layer to field layer.

Wide variety of functions

Basic communication
function
Network oriented common memory (real time communication)
Transient communication (non real time communication)
Transmission speed / data link control 1Gbps / based on Ethernet standard
Network topology Loop
High reliability data transmission Double loop
Collision avoidance Token passing
Size of network oriented common memory Max. 256K bytes
Media IEEE 802.3z

Controller Network

To Asia, and to the World - supports partner vendors in developing highly value added products

CC-Link is spreading globally from its base in Asia with accelerating speed. This rapid adoption supports CLPA partners who want to export to Asia from the rest of the world. It also means that globally, all partners selling to all potential customers can offer products with a higher degree of “added value” due to the advanced technology at the heart of CC-Link.
